Are all the on-site programs alike?
The programs are specifically developed for the uniqueness of each profession: law, ministry, medicine, and public service. Each on-site program will have components specifically integrated to meet the opportunities and challenges of inherent in each type of service profession.
Is this program for me?
The program is designed for you! Through registration inventories and asking what you would like to focus on, each person’s experience is unique. There is no “platform” or “set method,” rather it is an opportunity for wellness, a time away from your workplace to revitalize and rediscover your life and career priorities.
Are your programs considered continuing education, conferences, or retreats?
While they contain components of all of the above, they are specifically designed for the individual participants, with a high ratio of one-on-one time with leaders. The intensive work during the day with the consultants is balanced by evenings free to discover the area, relax, read, and reflect, and have renewal time away from everyday obligations.
How many participants will be in my group?
Each group has a maximum of six participants. However, while we plan for our new offices, the groups may be limited to four or five. Each group will have participants diverse in geographical area, size of organization, and strengths and goals.
Do I need a car while in Davidson?
During the early-mid part of 2015, we will be in transition to new offices, and though we have a site close to downtown Davidson, it may not be ideal to walk from hotels to the program location, especially in inclement weather. Transportation is recommended.
Are housing and meals provided during my program?
Housing and meal costs are not included in the program cost. Most hotels include breakfast, and lunch is provided for participants on the last day of the program. We do keep a good array of healthy snacks and beverages on-site.
What is spiritual direction?
Spiritual direction encourages you to explore your connection to purpose, no matter what faith you may (or may not) practice. During your sessions, your spiritual director will help you reflect deeply on the experiences of your daily life, and help you integrate what is important to you as you discern hopes and challenges with integrity.
Are there evening sessions during the week?
No, the week is specifically designed to give you evenings of self-reflection and relaxation – time to read, discover the area, and catch up with thoughts and plans.
Is this a confidential environment?
Yes, all sessions and communications are kept in the highest professional confidence and in accordance with any governmental regulations.
Can you provide references for your programs?
We would be happy to put you in touch with a reference – many former participants enjoy speaking about their experience. Our faculty, staff, associates, and administration are always willing to confer with you at any time.
Do you take credit cards?
We have unplugged our credit card machine while we transition into a new office! We can receive funds through wire transfer, and we prefer the old fashioned check – just let us know who will be responsible for your program costs, and we will invoice for payment.
